Oberon is our wide-fit boot (D-width), with a more generous fit through the foot than our other styles. We run true to size, so order your standard size. If you're between sizes, measure your foot and choose the size where the inner sole is about 0.2 to 0.4 inches (0.5 to 1 cm) longer than your foot.

Stand with your weight evenly distributed across both feet. Place a ruler or measuring tape against a wall and measure from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe (this isn't always your big toe). Measure both feet and use the longer measurement when choosing your size. If you usually wear thick socks with your boots, measure with the socks on.

Use the inner sole length column in the measurement chart above. Match your foot length to the inner sole length for the size you're considering. Your foot should be the same length as the inner sole, or up to about 0.4 inches (1 cm) shorter, so the inner sole is the same length as your foot or very slightly longer. Oberon inner soles run from 9.99 inches (US women's 7-7.5 / EU 38) to 11.83 inches (US women's 14 / EU 45). Sizes EU 36, 37, 46 and 47 are not yet available, but Merry People is collecting interest at the product page if you'd like to be notified.
Yes, Oberon fits true to size. Note that Oberon is our wide-fit boot (D-width), so it has more room through the foot than our other styles. If you've found Bobbi, Tully, Andie or Fergie too snug across the foot, Oberon will give you noticeably more space. If you're a half size, don't guess based on your usual shoe size. Measure your foot and choose the size where the inner sole is about 0.2 to 0.4 inches (0.5 to 1 cm) longer than your foot. The inner sole length for each size is in the measurement chart above.
Measure across the widest part of your foot (around the ball of the foot or bunion joints), then compare to the Toe width (inner) column in the measurement chart above.
Oberon is our wide-fit boot (D-width), with a more generous, square-toe shape than our other styles. Toe widths run from 3.53 inches (EU 38) to 3.94 inches (EU 45), noticeably wider than our standard B-width boots. Oberon also has a reinforced toe and heel for extra protection. If you've worn another Merry People style and wished you had more room across the foot, Oberon is the one designed for you.
Neither by default. Measure your foot first. The right size is the one where the inner sole is about 0.2 to 0.4 inches (0.5 to 1 cm) longer than your foot (use the inner sole length column in the measurement chart above). The neoprene lining will soften and mould to your feet over time like memory foam, so a slightly snug start is normal.
Go with the size that fits your larger foot. If the difference is significant, you can remove the innersole on the larger side for up to half a size extra room, or add an orthotic to the smaller side for a snugger fit.
